PIEDMONT ORTHOPEDIC FOUNDATION REPORT
Sanctuary, Kiawah Island, South Carolina-May 12, 2016 

1. Gary Lourie sends his thanks to all the Foundation officers and the Grant 
Committee for their hard work and for doing a great job. 

2. Treasurer’s report by Billy Andrews – summary of contributions made in 2015.

3. Grants listed below for 2015. 

4. Acknowledgement letters from the Foundation mailed to the contributors for 
IRS purposes. 

5. Status of Anthony V. Seaber Student Fellowship Fund $42,433. Students awarded 
this year: Colin Penrose; Manoj Sekar; Abriam Bala. 

6. Status of the George S. E. Aitken, M.D. Lectureship fund in honor of George - 
$52,858. Fourth Annual George S. E. Aitken Lecturer was Robert M. Peroutka, M.D., 
March 30, 2016 “Arthroplasty-From Evolution to Transformation”. 

8. Status of the William T. Hardaker, Jr. Residents’ Fellowship Fund that will ensure 
all graduating residents who have not won prior awards will be sponsored to attend 
the annual meeting in their Chief year (cash plus pledges $423,209). Need more 
contributions to help bring more residents to the meeting. Total needed $480,000, 
as 5% of $480,000 equals $24,000 (6K per resident and guest).
