Minutes of the Piedmont Orthopedic Foundation meeting held at the 58th Annual Meeting, May 5-9, 2010, The Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
1. Continuation of present officers.
2. Gary Lourie reported on the Foundation.
3. Treasurer’s report by Charles Taft – summary of contributions made in 2009.
4. Grants listed below for 2009.
5. Letters and postcards of response from the Foundation to the contributors for IRS.
6. Anthony V. Seaber Student Fellowship Fund established.
7. Foundation sponsorship of Annual meeting educational expenses, (i.e. audiovisual, program printing, mailing, administrative expenses) not to exceed $15,000.
2009 Grants
1. Identification of the best natural lumbar lordosis for use with posterior lumbar spinal instrumentation and fusion, Christopher Brown, Keith Michael, $5,176.25.
2. Surgical site marking durability, Gregg Nicandri, Walter "Hal" Wray, Steve Olson, $3,000.
